On This Day - 29th July 1954 Fellowship of the Ring is first Published

Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R Tolkien has grown into a huge franchise since the first book 'The Fellowship of the Rings' was first published in the UK in 1954. A sequel to Tolkien's Hobbit book it grew into a much larger story. Since then there has been another two LOTR books, film adaptations and Amazon even has a tv show adaptation in the works.

The trilogy of books are loved by fantasy fans everywhere and 65 years later it is still loved and inspiring people.
