June 19th 1937 - J M Barrie author of Peter Pan dies
‘All you need is faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust’
Sir James Matthew Barrie is remembered today as the man who created Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up. Creating the story of Peter Pan and Wendy Barrie created a character that continues to be loved by children today over 100 hundred years later.
On this day in 1937 J M Barrie passed away leaving the rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital, an amazing gift that is still earning royalties for the hospital and its patients.
